I've been down in the dumps lately. I won't go into much detail because I'd rather not bore you to death. With all the hormone changes, though, my moods have been changing drastically. The shot I got around a week and a half ago pretty much owned me. :P

Because I haven't been feeling too great, I haven't accomplished much. I do, however, have pics of the whole ping pong ball secret! Finally, you'll know what I've been talking about.

Yesterday was a busy day. Sort of. I spent 5 hours with my mom driving around, going to the doctor, and sitting in the waiting room. Wow. Not fun at all! And, on top of all that I had to go to my own doctor. Yep, yesterday was the day I got the shot. Which shot? The one that will put me in a temporary state of menopause. Lovely.

I'm 18 years old and going through menopause!? Seriously, who doesn't love uncurable, chronic diseases? Three years ago I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. Endometriwhatis?

Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrium, the tissue that lines the uterus is found outside of the uterus. Common sites for such "endometrial implants" can be the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, the outer surface of the uterus, and the bowel. Such implants can bleed just like the normal endometrium does during your menstrual cycle, but the blood is trapped so the implants can cause pain and irritation to surrounding tissues. As a reaction to this irritation, the body sometimes forms scar tissue around and near the implants. Endometriosis can be the cause of severe menstrual cramps just before or during your menstrual cycle as well as pelvic pain or pressure and/or pain during intercourse.

Anyway, I got this shot of Lupron Depot in my arm yesterday to basically take my hormones away and put me in a temporary state of menopause. That shot hurt, too! It was gigantic and filled with so much fluid. Even today my arm feels like I was hit by a baseball bat.

Well, after the boyfriend took me to my doctor to get the shot, we headed over to Barnes and Noble! I searched that store from corner to corner looking for a decent craft book. I desperately hoped to find one of those Japanese craft books, but no such luck. Instead I went home with Tease : Inspired T-Shirt Transformations. It was a good find, too. I just so happened to have a box full of ping pong balls. Heh, you'll see soon enough what I'm talking about...

FOC 2 - Package 2

I wanted to post everything earlier but my internet connection was acting a little weird. So, here's package two! (This is the large craft.)

Cards - My partner liked skulls. I attempted to draw her some skulls. Yeah I know, not the best. At least I tried!

Her username on Craftster is redstar13. Well, instead of red stars they're white. The background is red, though. There are twelve whole stars and bits of other stars. They, um, make up thirteen stars. :)

Cups - We've had these laying around for ages. They're part of an entire set. It would've cost me a fortune to send the whole set across the US, so I hand painted two instead. Once again I tried giving her some skulls.

These skulls turned out much better than the ones on the cards. Or at least I think so. And, someone put them on their Wists! I was so excited (not to mention shocked) that someone actually wanted something I've made.

Now, I warned her that these should be hand washed. I'm afraid if she forgets, the paint might chip off or wear away.

Swap Journal - This was a long project. Every single page in this journal is filled out with questions and checkboxes to keep redstar13 organized with swaps. Not to mention it's all hand written! As you can see, this package had a definite theme. Skulls. Hey, she likes them so why not?

Inside it says things such as name of swap, send out date, partner, real name, address, date sent, dc#, PM organizer about sending, PM partner about sending, date partner received, partner receiving from, date received, PM organizer about receiving, PM partner about receiving, post pictures in gallery, swap organizer, and feedback.

Toward the back of the swap journal I put pages dedicated just for DC# papers or receipts.

The swap journal was already bound together and the pages were all originally blank. I painted the front with black, acrylic paint and then went over it with a red paint marker. The skull and her username are outlined in a black paint marker.

Stuffy - Yep, a little robot monster stuffy. It's made out of felt, fabric, thread, and buttons. Most everything on the front is felt. The eyes (obviously) are buttons. The back is fabric. And, it's all held together with ... thread! This was another time consuming project. I started this quite some time ago and finally decided to finish it because I thought I found a good home for it. Redstar13 loved it, so I guess I did a good job finding a place for it to stay! Little monster robot was so sick of sitting amongst my craft supplies and other unfinished objects.

The colors are fairly true, but I'll mention anyway. Monster robot is hot pink! His buttons and part of his mouth are black. His "fang" robot signals and heart belly are white. His back is black and white checkered. The eyes are clear.

This plushy is one-of-a-kind, but not the only of his kind! A while back I made his friend, but he was sent away with a swap package. Never to be seen again, the poor thing. Turns out I was sending to a flaker. :(

Well, as long as my hand-stitched buddy is enjoying his new (non-flaker) home, it's all okay!

I joined one of those ongoing swaps where you claim the last person that posted. The craft? Stationary. I've been meaning to make some pretty stationary for my penpals, but never got around to it. Now I have tons. I have two sets of ten for myself (or trade/sale) and a set of ten for avsceriline.

Sewing machine down & a need for fabric

Once again my sewing machine is down. I'm not sure what's up with it, but it'll be fixed this weekend :D

In the mean time, I like to search the internet for fabrics I'd love to get my hands on. I'm organizing the Unconditional Swap May and my first wish is fabric. Hopefully I get oodles of fun fabric! Craftster hasn't been working right over the past few days. You'd think I'd get a lot more projects finished.

Oh how I want each and every one of these fabrics! Good thing my debit card isn't nearby.

Just look at the colors, though! Mmm... and think about all the things I can make with that beautiful fabric. Knowing me, though, I wouldn't want to cut it up!

The more I'm thinking about it, the more I'm wondering where my debit card is. I should really wait until I put more money into the account. I haven't bought new fabric in months. Crazy. Well, my sewing machine's been down. Ugh, I'm going to ask the boyfriend to hold on to my card so the whole "I want that now so I'm buying it now" thing can't take place.

Well, I jumped on the band wagon. The Ongoing Fabric Swap bandwagon, that is. I was afraid no one would want my fabric, but yarncookie wanted these lovely fabrics. I'll probably ship them out tomorrow along with another swap package.

So, I'm sending out fabric. That must mean I claimed someone else's fabric. Oh yes! They're coming from mata all the way in Italy. Oh, how exciting! She PMed me earlier today saying she'll be sending out tomorrow. Now, I wonder how long it'll take for my new fabric to arrive.

I'll add a picture of what mata had posted in the thread, but I'll post more pics when my package arrives.

Today was one of those days where you sit down and get a lot done. Except, looking around now I can't seem to find all these things I thought I finished. I guess babysitting your 5 month old god daughter only makes you believe you got a lot accomplished. Or maybe I got a lot done considering I couldn't take more than 10 minutes worth of attention off her without her becoming fussy.

Anyway, I finished another square of my crazy quilt. That makes 2 squares. Only a million more before it makes a decent sized blanket. Yeah, I could make a tiny baby sized blanket for Zoe, but I'd much rather put the extra time into making a larger blanket. I mean, I still have the quilted blanket my great aunt made for me (Okay, she made it for my mom and I borrowed it. It's been around 15 years...) and it's not too small.

What does one do when in need of cloth pads? Make a post on Craftster, of course! Verycrafty and I have set up our own private swap. I will be trading some fabric and a bar of handmade soap (light rose scented) for some cloth pads!

Also, I'm having a private swap with americandemockracy. She's sending me some cloth pads for a journal/book making kit. I'm so excited because I'll finally have enough!

Fabric Card

I had some fabric scraps just waiting to be used. I hadn't made any cards in a while, so I came up with this.

Believe it or not, this took me about an hour to make! Maybe it was because I kept peeking out the window to see if the mail man had come. Or maybe it was because half way through I decided to move outside.

Either way I like how it turned out. I think I'm going to send it to lovelyislacey as part of her Greenthumbs Swap Round 2 package.

I decided that LJ wasn't working. So, here's my brand spankin new crafty blog! Hopefully I'll be able to fill this up with lots and lots of pictures.
